Longboard

A longboard is designed for those that simply want to cruise around town. They have become exceptionally popular in recent years, especially with college students. They can be found in most skateboard and sporting goods stores.

A longboard is most often made from plywood or bamboo. These materials are ideal for long cruisers as they provide stability. However, for those that prefer serious downhill riding, more flexible materials such as fiberglass are often used.

The longboard is often preferred by both aging skaters and by those with little skateboarding experience. Their larger size makes them a great deal more stable than the smaller freestyle boards, which appeals to many riders. They are also the perfect platform for lazily cruising city sidewalks and parks.
