Skate Shoes

Skate shoes are a bit different than a standard pair of sneakers. They are designed to be much more durable and better able to handle the stresses that skating can dish out. However, it is also important that they be comfortable as well.

Skate shoes have come a long way over the years. The original versions were basically whatever shoes you happen to have on at the time. Today however, these shoes often feature a reinforced toe and heel, high-tech cushioning materials, and double or triple stitched seams.

One of the most important features of skate shoes are the soles. Flat, vulcanized rubber soles are the preferred platform because they are better able to securely stick to the board. And because the soles are often used for braking as well, the sole must be exceptionally durable.
